Another month has passed. It's time to measure myself - physically, mentally and spiritually, and the results would be insignificant ZERO. Bwhahaha.

Right. That was just a warm up and it's dumb that I have to rewrite this post for accidentally deleting the post.

I think I have achieved something very impossible financially for the month of July. I think I have outdone my expectation. Haha.

I allocated a large sum of my salary in June and locked it in a fixed deposit for a month. The balance I used to pay off my bills and then tada the balance i have was RM 400. I used RM 100 out of it to buy a monthly LRT pass and the balance I have was RM 300.

Yes, RM 300 for the whole month of July. Bwhaha. I seriously thought I cannot survive with only that balance but I give it a go because I wanted to try out if I could survive with that amount of money. Some people are just living below USD 1 a day and I can't. Right, bring it on.

I was scared at the beginning when I think of the expenses of I "want". But I've been thrifty all the while like bringing my own lunch from home and have not been shopping for the past 6 months. And the only thing I pampered myself with is buying coffee from San Franscisco, or fruit smoothies. But unfortunately, I now can't consume coffee or tea, so only fruit smoothies. Haha. Healthier I guess.

As for entertainment, I have been staying at home at nights and self study my Chinese and working on my project. Haha. I also watch anime as my entertainment. Despite of that, I have paid two movie tickets for Transformers and my sister for her parking fees at a shopping mall. Also bought some breakfast.

And before I get my pay, I realised I have only used RM 200 out of the 300. I just want to applause to myself for achieving this. I think it's not easy to be able to use RM 200 to survive because I'm living in a capital city of Malaysia. Standard of living is sure high here, and yet I managed to be not influenced by the things such as cute items here. But I'm not going to say I'm immune because that's impossible. I'm never immune to cute things but I can put out the fire of "wanting it" easily.

So you guys have any financial budget to share with me?

Good gracious! I'm going to call you sifu! I spend and average of 10 bucks a day on food itself and I'm walking to and from campus and my friend pays for the movies we watch...

This might sound odd but honestly I don't really want to be "rich". I just want at least enough to make ends meet and not have to borrow on a credit card or a loan for basic necessities. I'd feel badly being too rich because the more money that you have, the more people there are out there who have less money.

I've gone to the grocery store once in the past 2.5 months and that was just to take my roommate to buy groceries. I've can count on both hands worth of fingers how many times I've eaten something other than food I've written off at work at the end of the night. I can't afford anything else.

I would try a system like the one that you used but unfortunately right now with the cost of what I pay for gas in getting back and forth to work I just have no extra money at the end of the week so I can't budget at the beginning of the week.

But I applaud you too! And I am working out my own system which I'll be mentioning in one of my next entries! =0)
